Acupuncture

Neurofunctional Acupuncture, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture  or Electro-Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into the body with the goal of stimulating the nervous system (more specifically the peripheral nerves). Once the needles are inserted into specific sites, they are stimulated with electricity in order to regulate abnormal nervous system activity. The insertion of the needle also increases blood flow to the area which in turn supplies nutrients to the nerves!

Neurofunctional acupuncture can be an effective treatment by itself or when accompanied by other treatment methods (like manual care!).

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization as an effective treatment for:

  • Musculoskeletal pain
  • Movement disorders
  • Sports related injuries
  • Headaches
